Transvisions

Transvisiones 2015 is a creative project based on the sharing of visual experiences, that aims to generate new ways of visibility, discussion and critics about photography. It lies in the carrying out of 6 residences held simultaneously in various international destinations and in the city of Alcobendas. Participating venues for the 2015 edition are:

Centro de Arte Alcobendas, Spain.
Art Center South Florida, Miami.
Instituto Sonorense de Cultura, Hermosillo, Mexico.
Centro de la Imagen de Lima, Peru.

Residences began in mid-March and ended in June this year. At the end of the program, and coinciding with the PHotoEspaña 2015 festival, the exhibition opened at the Art Centre Alcobendas, where processes and creative results, produced during stays of artists in each destination, were exhibited. The participating artists were selected by public announcement, and are as follows: Yuri Tuma (Miami, EE.UU.), Carlos Iván Hernández, (Hermosillo, Mexico), and Maricel Delgado (Lima, Peru), who worked for three months in residence at the Centro de Arte Alcobendas. At the same time, Julio Galeote at the Art Center South Florida in Miami, Ignacio Evangelista at the Instituto Sonorense de Cultura (Hermosillo), and Andrés Pachón at the Centro de la Imagen de Lima (Peru).

Transvisiones 2015 bets on new forms of creation, and one of the program's objectives is to promote the photobook as a legitimate way of artistic expression in itself. For this reason, during the final exhibition, the specialized jury composed of Lorena Gonzalez, Itala Schmelz and Nathalie Goffard unanimously chose Julio Galeote work titled Tropical Ornament for future edition of a book. Transvisiones 2015 is a project curated by Marta Soul for the Centro de Arte Alcobendas.
