Spaces and resources, of free and non-charged use, open to all citizens, that provide information, education, leisure and culture. Places open to imagination and creativity, entrance doors leading to the world of books, writing and words.

Alcobendas’ libraries are called “mediatecas” because, in them, culture is available in every support: books, magazines, audiovisual documents, electronic ones, videogames and access to virtual world. The Alcobendas’ net of “Mediatecas” offers a unique at different spaces of the municipality so that from any point of the city there is available access to a place in which read, study, navigate and watch, listen and promoting imagination.

In the Central District the “Mediateca” of the “Centro de Arte Alcobendas” was opened to public on the 31st January 2011, and counts with a library (mediateca) for children and young people, a lmediateca for adults and a study and consult room, and with the services of reading, lending, access to Internet, listening and viewing, study and activities of promotion of reading and writing.
