International Award for Photography Alcobendas
To internationalize the firm commitment towards photography in the city of Alcobendas, in the spring of 2009, was born the Alcobendas International Photography Award.
With this Award, Alcobendas sought the consolidation as a benchmark of photography in the Community of Madrid, aspiration that, after the celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the Alcobendas Collection in 2008 became more feasible and now after the commemoration of the 20th Anniversary is fully accomplished
The author awarded in this biennial call must be a documentary photographer born anywhere in the world whose work is already part of the history of photography, images standing in favour of the rights of children and therefore, in the defence and pursuit of human dignity. The work should stimulate reflection on the various and exciting issues that characterize the global situation of children in its broadest sense, taking as reference a long professional career. It will seriously consider publishing, actions and other publishing projects that dignify the human values.
The jury will select a photographic series, where only one image will be chosen to officially represent the award. The award-winning series, and therefore, the selected photo, there should be known through publications whether of a journalistic, editorial or creative character.
